Our fillers contain a small amount of anesthetic, so patients usually only feel a slight pinch. After the treatment, ice can be applied to relieve any discomfort and reduce the likelihood of bruising.

The treatment begins with a consultation, during which your wishes and preferences are discussed. Based on this, the doctor advises the most suitable technique and amount of filler for you. Your face is then cleansed with chlorhexidine, after which the fillers are injected using a fine needle. After the injection, pressure is applied with gauze to minimize bruising. If necessary, a local anesthetic can be used.

 

Possible side effects include bruising, swelling, asymmetry, and, in rare cases, infection or necrosis. We always have a treatment available to intervene immediately should any complications arise. However, these risks are extremely rare.

After the treatment, it is recommended to avoid wearing makeup for at least 4 hours, refrain from strenuous activity on the same day, avoid acidic products for 24 hours, and skip spa visits, saunas, or hot yoga sessions for one week following the treatment.

Immediately after the treatment, the effects of the fillers are visible. Some redness, bruising, or swelling may occur. Most swelling subsides within 2 to 3 days, but mild swelling can persist for up to 4 weeks. Asymmetry may be present initially, but this usually evens out by the time of the follow-up appointment.

The total time you will spend at Doctor Contour Clinic is approximately 45 minutes. The injection procedure itself takes about 15 minutes.

This varies per individual, but generally, the results of the fillers remain visible for 9 months to a year, depending on factors such as the amount of filler used and individual patient characteristics.

The amount of filler needed varies per person. Some patients may require just 1 ml, while others might need up to 3 ml. Dr. Kim Detollenaere will conduct a thorough evaluation and recommend an appropriate amount tailored to the patient’s specific situation. For chin fillers, it is advised to inject a maximum of 2 ml in a single session. If more is needed, a follow-up session is scheduled.
