Trichotest for hair loss

Hair loss is a relatively common problem among both men and women. People often try all kinds of remedies at home before taking the step to a specialized doctor. At Doctor Contour Clinic we are experts in the field of hair loss and we offer various treatments, such as medication, possibly in combination with PRP or hair fillers. In addition, we can offer an extra personalized treatment that is exceptionally effective for your genetic profile, based on a DNA test: the TrichoTest™.

The price includes accompanying advice and - where necessary - medical prescriptions.

Trichotest, DNA test for hair loss

Fagron’s TrichoTest™ is an advanced DNA analysis that makes it possible to personalize treatment for the individual patient. This personal approach includes both local applications (such as lotions) and the consumption of specific vitamins and minerals, formulated by your local pharmacy.

By using this DNA analysis, it is possible to identify with precision those active substances that are most effective for the unique needs of a patient. In addition, the dosage of each component is finely tuned to the patient, taking into account his or her unique metabolic profile.

What does the TrichoTest™ look at?

The test examines elements that may influence your hair loss, including inflammation, antioxidant activity, collagen production, hormone balance, any vitamin or mineral deficiencies, the condition of your blood circulation, stress factors and the impact of medication use.

Procedure

A cheek swab is used by the doctor to perform the test. Together with the patient, the doctor also completes a questionnaire about essential lifestyle aspects. Then, both the patient’s DNA and the information from the lifestyle questionnaire are examined in a laboratory with specific expertise. The TrichoTest™ evaluates 48 genetic markers within 13 genes that are related to hair loss.

Within a period of 4 to 5 weeks, the doctor receives a detailed report with the effectiveness of different active substances based on the genetic profile of the patient. Based on this, the doctor prescribes a personalized medication plan. This customized treatment can then be put together by the local pharmacy.

Who is the target audience?

  • Individuals who have tried multiple treatment methods without much success.
  • Genetically determined hair loss.
  • Hair loss due to hormonal causes (androgenetic alopecia).
  • Hair loss leading to bald patches (alopecia areata).
  • Hair loss caused by illness, stress, or the use of certain medications (telogen effluvium).

The pros

This analysis helps identify the treatments that are specifically effective for you, providing personalized solutions. It allows you to determine whether the use of Minoxidil, Finasteride, or certain vitamins and minerals is recommended for your situation. Additionally, it can assess whether a PRP treatment could be beneficial.

You will receive a treatment plan that is fully tailored to your unique needs, including a customized medication prescription.

The procedure to obtain this information is completely painless, quick, and easy to perform. Since your genetic makeup is unchangeable, the results of this test offer lifelong value. You can use these insights to slow down or even stop hair loss, and by using the optimal nutrients, you can improve the health of your hair.
