Liquid Facelift
The Alternative to a Surgical Facelift
Non-surgical treatments are rapidly gaining popularity as an alternative to traditional plastic surgery. At Doctor Contour Clinic, we are experiencing a sharp increase in demand for anti-wrinkle injections and fillers, thanks in part to the extraordinary results Dr. Detollenaere achieves with liquid facelifts.
- Price: From €350 (amount of ml needed for liquid facelift is very individual)
- Treatment time: 30 minutes
- Effect: 9 tot 12 months
A liquid facelift, possibly in combination with anti-wrinkle treatments, can contribute to a fuller and younger appearance without the need for surgery.
Who is a candidate for a liquid facelift?
What causes a face to look older? The answer is complex and can be attributed to multiple factors, such as wrinkles, lines, pigment spots and sagging skin.
However, a critical factor is the loss of structural support. As we age, we not only lose bone mass, but the firmness of soft tissues also decreases.
This loss of volume can lead to a thinner appearance of the face, wrinkles, folds and a general sagging of facial contours.
Liquid Face Fillers can address these issues.
Who is the liquid facelift ideal for?
- Good candidates for the liquid facelift often show the first signs of aging and are usually in their 30s or 40s before the skin begins to sag significantly.
- When the skin is significantly sagging and fillers are no longer a solution, a discussion about plastic surgery is considered.
Treatment areas for liquid facelift
Fillers can be strategically injected into various areas of the face to restore volume.
The face is often considered in three sections:
Upper face
Midface
Lower face

How does a filler contribute to the improvement of these areas?
Upper Face (Bovenste Gezicht):
Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly applied to the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Fillers can be used to add volume to the temples, helping reduce a hollow appearance. Under-eye fillers help minimize dark circles and hollows, contributing to a fresher and more youthful look.
Midface (Midden Gezicht):
As people age, volume loss in the cheeks is often the first visible change, giving a tired and aged look.
Fillers can restore lost volume, making the cheeks appear fuller again.
They can also be used to sculpt the cheeks and enhance facial harmony, creating a desirable V-shape that contributes to a youthful appearance.
Nasolabial folds—the lines from the nose to the mouth—can also be treated with fillers.
Lower Face (Onderste Gezicht):
In a liquid facelift, the lips, chin, and jawline are key areas of focus.
Fillers can be used to plump the lips, enhancing a youthful and sensual look.
Jawline definition and chin enhancement treatments have recently gained popularity. These treatments help create a stronger and more defined facial contour.
They are especially favored by younger clients (ages 20–30) who want to enhance their facial profile without surgery.

FAQ
Every patient has unique needs, so the approach to a liquid facelift varies. Dr. Kim Detollenaere begins with a thorough evaluation of the patient’s face and reviews their medical history and expectations.
The amount of filler (in ml) injected is tailored to the patient’s aesthetic goals and the doctor’s assessment. A local anesthetic, such as a cream or injection, can be used for comfort. At Doctor Contour Clinic, we often use fillers that already contain an anesthetic. Ice packs may be applied to minimize pain and swelling. Before the treatment begins, the skin is cleansed and disinfected. If necessary, anesthesia is applied, after which the doctor injects the fillers. On average, 3 to 4 injections are needed for a complete liquid facelift.
It is normal to experience some bruising and swelling, which usually subsides within 48 hours. Sometimes patients notice a difference in the symmetry between the two sides of their face, which is often a reflection of the original asymmetry of their face. These differences usually correct themselves within a few weeks. A follow-up visit after approximately 2 weeks can be scheduled if Dr. Kim Detollenaere deems this necessary. Lip fillers often require follow-up treatments. Patients are given extensive instructions and safety information for aftercare.

This is a frequently asked question, and the answer varies depending on several factors such as the patient’s individual anatomy and metabolism, the injected volume, and the type of filler used. Many patients return after about 6 months for possible touch-ups if needed. After that, the results can last for several years. For patients seeking further improvements, a follow-up appointment can be scheduled a few weeks after the initial treatment to consider additional injections. Follow-up visits are recommended based on the patient’s satisfaction with the initial results.
