Lipolysis for the Double Chin: What Is It?
Lipolysis, or fat reduction, is a medical technique to target fat deposits that are resistant to exercise or diet. Those stubborn fat deposits that just won’t go away. With lipolysis, we introduce a specific substance through small injections into the fatty tissue. This process causes fat cells to break down and be removed from the body via the liver.
At Doctor Contour Clinic, we use Prostrolane Inner B, which has a unique composition that not only dissolves fat but also firms the skin. A double win!
Step by Step Procedure of Lipolysis Treatment for Double Chin:

What does a lipolysis treatment involve?
- Prostrolane Inner B is a transparent gel containing four biomimetic peptides and hyaluronic acid.
- This unique composition has anti-lipogenic and lipolytic effects, improves skin condition, and stimulates the natural reduction of fat cells.
- Prostrolane Inner B also promotes collagen production, which enhances skin elasticity.

Lipolysis: Fat Reduction Without Surgery
If you would rather not undergo surgery, lipolysis is an excellent alternative. In addition, the side effects of lipolysis are significantly lower than those of liposuction. Liposuction carries a higher risk of infection and severe swelling, and can lead to numbness or decreased sensation at the treatment site.

Achieving the Best Results:
- Typically, one injection is sufficient for a single session, followed by a follow-up appointment after one month. In some cases, an additional injection may be needed a month later.
- Multiple sessions may be required to fully benefit from the lipolysis treatment. The number of sessions needed varies from person to person and depends on the amount of fat.
- On average, people with a prominent double chin need two sessions spaced eight weeks apart. For those with a moderate double chin, one session is often enough.
- Unlike fillers, the results of lipolysis appear gradually, as the body needs time to break down and eliminate the fat. The first results are usually visible after one month.
- After this process, you regain a youthful appearance with a slimmer double chin and well-defined contours.
Aftercare for Lipolysis:
After the treatment you can resume your daily routine immediately, but there are some things you should avoid:
- Avoid saunas, spas, infrared treatments and excessive alcohol consumption for up to 24 hours after the treatment.
- We also recommend not doing intensive sports for 24 hours after the treatment.
FAQ over lipolyse
Typical side effects of this procedure include bruising and swelling at the injection site. Although rare, flu-like symptoms or headaches may also occur shortly after treatment.
The effect of lipolysis is not immediately noticeable, as with fillers. The first visible result of lipolysis usually occurs after one month. For optimal results, 2 to 4 treatment sessions are usually necessary, depending on the amount of fat, with an interval of 8 weeks. The body needs time to process the broken down fat. During the treatments, both before and after photos are taken, so that you can clearly see the effect of the fat reduction.
In principle, the effect of a lipolysis treatment is permanent. However, it is possible that fat deposits will reappear if weight is gained.
This treatment may not be suitable for persons under 18 years of age, pregnant or breastfeeding women, persons with allergies to the substances used, persons with poorly controlled diabetes or thyroid disease, persons with severe liver or kidney disease, and persons with autoimmune diseases.
It is normal for your chin to be thicker and redder in the first week after treatment. After 6 to 10 days you should be completely healed, without swelling, bruising or redness. If any unusual reactions occur, it is advisable to contact Dr. Detollenaere.
