Early Years and Medical Studies

Since a young age, Dr. Kim Detollenaere has been passionate about science and the human body. The choice to study medicine after finishing high school was a natural one. However, after a while, she realized that studying medicine did not offer enough room for her to express her creativity. Therefore, this somewhat rebellious non-conformist chose to express her creativity in other ways, such as through her blog, which has been active for over six years, and her prominent presence on various social media channels.

A large part of her final years in medicine was documented on her YouTube channel and blog, where she participated in a campaign to provide aspiring doctors with more insight into the life of a medical student. Despite all these activities, Dr. Kim Detollenaere successfully graduated as a doctor from the University of Brussels, Belgium, in 2022, with high marks.

Education and Experience

During the final years of her medical studies, Dr. Detollenaere spent a significant amount of time in the department of plastic surgery, completing numerous internships and attending conferences both domestically and internationally. This provided her with extensive knowledge, which led to the transformation of her blog in 2022 into “Doctor Contour: Aesthetic Guide.” Here, readers and viewers can find advice on cosmetic procedures and various evidence-based beauty tips related to skincare, anti-aging, and self-image.

After graduating as a doctor, Dr. Detollenaere decided to focus on non-invasive aesthetic procedures such as muscle relaxants (BTX), various types of fillers, PRP, skinboosters, thread lifts, and more. To achieve this, she completed multiple training courses and attended conferences both in Belgium and abroad, receiving training from leading plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and experienced aesthetic doctors. She then gained significant experience working at a clinic in Ghent. Eventually, she opened her own aesthetic clinic, “Doctor Contour Clinic,” in Antwerp, Belgium.

Dr. Detollenaere is also a recognized member of the Belgian Society for Aesthetic Medicine (SBME-BVEG) based on her education, certificates, and experience.

What can you expect from a consultation and/or treatment with Dr. Kim Detollenaere at Doctor Contour Clinic?

Dr. Kim Detollenaere is not in favor of the approach used by most clinics, where patients are sometimes treated in less than five minutes. Dr. Detollenaere first takes the time for an in-depth conversation to properly inform the patient and to accurately understand the patient’s wishes. She then performs an analysis of your face to create a personalized plan. This plan is tailored to the unique features of each face, with the goal of bringing out the most beautiful version of yourself. If the patient agrees with this plan, the treatment will be carried out in a calm and relaxed manner.
